Request access to our Free Resource Library and search for School Interview to download the files.
Preserving Memories with Back to School Interviews
There is nothing more fun than reminiscing. Kids grow up so fast and it’s easy to forget the little things. Our free printable interviews make it easy to document details you may otherwise forget. With space for either a drawing or a photo of your child, you’ll look back and smile at their innocence. There is space at the bottom for your child to sign his or her name as well. It’s so fun to watch as their handwriting shifts as they gain better control of their pen.
When you download our free file, you’ll notice that the design shifts from a childlike crayon motif to a more ‘grown up’ colored pencil with doodle style. The interview design grows with your child.
The zipped file includes preschool, pre-k, kindergarten, pre-first, and first through eighth grade. Sixth grade features two options; one for children who remain with one teacher, and one for children who begin switching classes. I did my best to include all grade level options.
Ideas For Using These Printables
When your child is really small you’ll probably want to fill out the question and answer section for them. As they begin to write better it is fun to let them fill it out themselves. Looking back at their handwriting and the way they spelled things is such a delight.
While you can absolutely print out a photo and attach it to the worksheet, I always like to let the child draw their own photo. It’s a cute way to preserve some of their artwork.
I suggest printing out each of the necessary sheets ahead of time and storing in a notebook for future use. You may find it difficult to locate these files as years pass. Store each page in a three ring binder with page protectors. Stash your favorite pieces of artwork that they have created throughout the year behind each interview. Keep special ephemera in a folder as well, like notes from teachers, awards, or report cards. It makes a thoughtful gift at graduation to present to your child all of their early elementary memories.
