Who we are

wE BELIEVE

We believe that everyone is an artist. Creating something, regardless of the end result, is therapeutic and invigorating and helps to build up one’s self confidence in a way that nothing else can. When you can take individual elements and put them together in a way that is unique to you, you start to feel that you can do anything.

We also realize that we all have to start somewhere. So while so many of us want to produce gorgeous, Instagram worthy recipes that we created ourselves, it’s important to understand we may need a little help getting there. Our tutorials and resource library, along with suggested products to help you along the way, are provided to be a jumping off point for you to add your own touch and make it your own.

As your confidence in your skill set grows, we hope you will begin to become a Fickle Hobbyist yourself. Dabbling in all sorts of crafts can be such a fun adventure. No one says you have to be a master of all things for it to be worth doing. The doing is half the fun. It is our goal to inspire you to find joy through curiosity and creating with us.

Our Style

We believe in elevating crafting and creating. You may find that a craft or project we share can be done a simpler way than how we have presented it, but our personal preference is to make it a little bit more refined and finished. This is so your end product will be something you are really excited to show off. We promise we will make it accessible in a way that won’t make you shy away from trying.

Our Core Values

There is much to be learned through experimentation, success, and even failure. If it sounds like we are talking about more than crafting, you’d be correct. The skills you pick up through challenging yourself to try something new are invaluable! We encourage you to be brave, step out of your comfort zone, and don’t be afraid to mess it all up. Rarely are things beyond repair. This goes for crafting, cooking, baking, knitting, any new skill you can list, and life itself.
