How to Use the Halloween Bingo Printable File

The file contains 30 individual, randomized Halloween bingo printable cards and a sheet of call out images. If you are a teacher planning on using these in your class, I encourage you to do so! I suggest printing these in color, trimming (I didn’t leave trim lines along the top and bottom, but I think it would be more proportionate to trim both ends. Treat the design as full bleed), and laminating them for repeated use, even the call out cards.

Once laminated, kids can mark off spaces with dry erase markers or cover up spaces with tokens of some sort. Make it really fun by using little pieces of candy like M&Ms.

Different Ways to Play

Formations

Bingo doesn’t have to simply be five in a row. I encourage you to switch it up. The classic formations to win a game include:

  • 5 across
  • 5 down
  • 5 diagonally
  • 4 corners
  • X formation
  • Outer edges
  • Blackout

But you don’t have to be limited by only these! Maybe do smiley face bingo, or plus bingo. Get creative!

Variations

Mecca Bingo gives a long list of fun bingo variations, but my favorites that I think would work well with a class include:

  • U-Pick ‘Em – Decide your formation before starting. Draw student’s names one at a time and he or she gets to choose an image to call. Get ready for the whoops and whines with this one!
  • Speed Bingo – You decide if your group can handle the pressure. During speed bingo you draw and call in rapid-fire succession. This may not work for the littles, but could be fun with an older group.
  • Inverse – The object here is to NOT complete a row. Once you have five in a row, you’re out! Keep going until the last person is left standing.
  • Riddle Bingo – This is my own suggestion. Now, I didn’t create riddles as clues for this game, but if you are feeling particularly crafty, I think that would be a really fun way to call. The cards are marked with images rather than numbers, so you have a lot more leeway here.
